SEN Teaching Assistant - South Surrey

We are seeking a committed and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a well-regarded specialist school located in South Surrey. This is a rewarding opportunity to support young people in a nurturing and structured setting, helping them grow both academically and personally.

Location: South Surrey

Hours: Monday: 8:30am – 4:00pm Tuesday to Thursday: 8:30am – 4:15pm Friday: 8:30am – 3:45pm

Salary: £14.00 - £15.50 per hour

Contract: Long-term / Temp-to-Perm

Own transport is essential due to the school’s rural setting

The Role:

Support students with a range of complex mental health and additional needs, providing consistency and reassurance throughout the school day.

Work collaboratively with teaching staff and the wider school team to maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment.

Encourage and guide pupils in managing their emotions and engaging positively with their learning.

Assist learners across different key stages, helping them build confidence and achieve meaningful progress.

The school prides itself on its therapeutic and individualised approach, with small class sizes and a strong focus on tailored learning strategies to meet each student’s needs.

What We’re Looking For:

A patient and empathetic individual with a genuine interest in supporting children with SEN

Previous experience in an SEN setting is beneficial but not required

Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

A positive, adaptable, and proactive attitude
