The Role: How You'll Make an Impact

Working closely with classroom teachers and the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO), you will be the champion that helps pupils with additional needs thrive. Every day is different, but a typical day will involve:

1:1 & Small Group Support: Tailoring your approach to help children with unique learning styles (including ASD, ADHD, and speech/language needs) feel confident and understood.

Bringing Lessons to Life: Adapting learning materials to ensure no child is left behind.

Building Independence: Helping students implement their Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and celebrating their milestones.

Creating Safe Spaces: Promoting an inclusive classroom environment and using positive behaviour management strategies.

Tracking Progress: Observing and recording student breakthroughs to share with teachers and families.

About You

We care more about your passion, patience, and empathy than a long list of qualifications.

What you’ll need to bring:

Experience: A background working with children with SEND (this could be from a school, care, or community setting).

The Right Attitude: A patient, proactive, and resilient approach to supporting young people.

Communication: Great teamwork skills and the ability to connect with children and colleagues alike.

Nice-to-haves (but not essential):

Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3 or equivalent.

The Fine Print (Safeguarding)

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All applicants must have an Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one) and be able to provide a minimum of 2 references covering the last 24 months of employment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
