We are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and supportive specialist school in Liverpool for an enthusiastic SEN Teacher to join their committed team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a rewarding environment where every day brings the chance to help pupils achieve their full potential.

The Role

As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). You will create a positive, inclusive learning environment where every child feels supported, valued, and encouraged to succeed.

You may be supporting pupils with:

Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD & SLD)
Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
Complex learning needs

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver creative, engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and EHCP targets.
Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
Monitor, assess, and record pupil progress.
Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, therapists, parents, and external agencies.
Promote positive behaviour and support pupils' emotional wellbeing.
Inspire pupils to develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning.

The Ideal Candidate

We're looking for someone who has:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Experience teaching pupils with SEND in either a mainstream or specialist setting.
A strong understanding of a range of additional needs and effective teaching strategies.
Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
A patient, adaptable, and compassionate approach.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.Applications are welcomed from experienced SEN Teachers as well as mainstream teachers with a passion for SEND who are looking to transition into specialist education.
