SEND / SEMH Teacher

This is an exciting opportunity to join a specialist school that supports students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and those who have faced challenges accessing mainstream education. The Role

As a SEND / SEMH Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to the needs of students with additional learning and behavioural needs.

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons
Support students with SEND and SEMH needs to achieve their individual targets
Teach small groups and provide personalised learning opportunities
Build positive relationships that promote engagement and emotional wellbeing
Assess progress, mark work and complete reports as required
Implement effective behaviour management strategies
Work closely with parents, carers and external professionals
Contribute to a positive and inclusive school culture

The Ideal Candidate

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS)
Minimum of two years' experience working within a SEND, SEMH, specialist school, alternative provision or similar setting
Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice and inclusive teaching strategies
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people
