Are you a passionate Year 1 Teacher looking for a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of pupils with additional needs?
Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a five-form-entry primary school in Bedford to recruit a dedicated and resilient Year 1 Teacher, with an immediate start available.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher with experience supporting children with SEND and behavioural needs. You will work with pupils who may face barriers to mainstream education, helping them rebuild confidence, develop positive relationships and engage meaningfully with their learning.
The Role: Year 1 Teacher
As the successful candidate, your responsibilities will include:
Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that meet pupils' individual learning needs.
Supporting children with special educational needs and behavioural challenges in a specialist educational setting.
Managing challenging behaviour through clear expectations, consistent boundaries and positive behaviour strategies.
Creating a safe, structured and nurturing classroom environment where every pupil feels supported.
Adapting teaching methods and resources to accommodate different abilities, learning styles and needs.
Building trusting relationships with pupils to encourage participation, confidence and progress.
Working closely with colleagues and the wider school team to support pupils' educational and personal development.
What We're Looking For
To be considered for this Year 1 Teacher position in Bedford, you will need:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Previous school-based teaching experience.
Essential experience supporting children with SEND and behavioural needs.
Patience, resilience and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils who may have experienced difficulties in mainstream education.
A flexible teaching approach and a commitment to inclusive education.
Strong teamwork, communication and classroom management skills.
