Description:
SEN Teacher Cover in Dudley, Monday to Wednesday
Some children learn best in a smaller, quieter space, with someone who notices the small wins. We’re looking for an SEN Teacher to cover a staff absence at a friendly school in Dudley with a real family feel, starting on or around Monday 23rd November 2026.
This is temporary cover for up to 12 weeks. You’d work 3 days a week, most likely Monday to Wednesday. Two days are in the Hub, the school’s specialist base for pupils with SEN, working with children in KS1 and KS2. The other day is spent teaching a Year 1 class.
Pupils in the Hub have a variety of needs, including autism, ADHD and SLCN, and they’re working at around EYFS/KS1 level. Some stay in the Hub for the whole day, while others move into their classroom during the day.
Responsibilities
* Teach pupils in the Hub across KS1 and KS2, working at EYFS/KS1 level.
* Plan lessons that suit a range of needs and learning levels.
* Adapt tasks so each child can join in and feel successful.
* Teach a Year 1 class for one day a week.
* Keep routines steady so pupils feel safe and settled.
* Work alongside Hub staff and the wider school team.
* Share pupil progress with colleagues.
Requirements
* Previous experience working with children with SEN (essential).
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) preferred.
* Confidence planning and teaching pupils working at EYFS/KS1 level, including older pupils in KS2.
* A calm, patient approach when a child finds things hard.
* A team player who’s happy to ask for support.
* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
What the school offers
* A welcoming team, especially within the Hub.
* A chance to build real relationships with pupils, even in a short placement.
* Support from your Sprint consultant throughout.
Your profile will be shared with the school first, and the Head will review it. If shortlisted, you’ll be invited for a tour, so you’ll also have the chance to decide if the school is right for you.

But if you’re passionate about supporting students with additional needs and want a long term role supporting students with SEN, where you can build consistency and see the impact of your work every day, that’s exactly what we do.
