The Role

Position: SEN Teacher
Location: Canterbury and surrounding areas, Kent
Contract: Upcoming long-term opportunities

We are working with a number of specialist SEN schools in and around Canterbury who are looking for passionate and committed teachers to join their teams.

These schools provide personalised education for pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and complex learning difficulties.

With a strong focus on nurturing, structure and individualised support, these schools are committed to helping every child develop academically, socially and emotionally.

About the Role

As an SEN Teacher, you will play a vital role in creating positive learning experiences tailored to the individual needs of your pupils.

Working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team, you will plan and deliver engaging lessons, adapt your teaching approach and provide the support pupils need to flourish in a safe, inclusive and encouraging environment.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to the individual needs of SEN pupils.
Create a safe, inclusive and nurturing classroom environment.
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists and other professionals to support pupils' individual learning plans.
Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies and interventions where necessary.
Support pupils' academic, social, emotional and personal development.
Build positive and effective relationships with parents, carers and external professionals.
Follow school safeguarding procedures, SEN policies and other relevant policies and procedures.What We're Looking For

We are keen to hear from teachers who have:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Experience teaching pupils with SEN, particularly those with ASD, SEMH or complex learning needs.
A good understanding of effective teaching strategies and interventions for primary-aged pupils.
A genuine passion for inclusive education and supporting children to achieve their potential.
Excellent communication, teamwork and classroom management skills.
An Enhanced Child-Only DBS on the Update Service, or a willingness to obtain one.
