Description:
Teaching Personnel are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join one of our schools in Cambridge.
The successful candidate will have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a genuine commitment to supporting the unique needs of children with special educational needs (SEN).
Responsibilities:
Design and deliver inclusive lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of students with SEND.
Foster a supportive and nurturing classroom environment that promotes academic growth, emotional well-being, and positive behaviour.
Work collaboratively with teachers, teaching assistants, and support staff to develop and implement individualised Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Continuously assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and identifying areas for improvement.
Maintain strong communication with parents, guardians, and external professionals involved in the care and education of students with SEND.
About the school
The setting is an Ofsted rated ‘Good’ school providing specialist education for 7-18 year olds with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, along with a number of other potential diagnoses, including: ASD, ADHD, FASD, anxiety and/or, communication and interaction, cognition, and learning needs.
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Specialisation or experience in teaching students with SEND
In-depth understanding of various learning difficulties, such as autism spectrum disorders, dyslexia, ADHD, and speech and language impairments.
Strong knowledge of different teaching strategies, interventions, and resources for SEND students.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students with SEND.
Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students in a dynamic educational environment.
