SEN Teacher – SEMH School – King's Lynn

Location: King's Lynn and surrounding areas
Start Date: September 2026
Position: Full-Time SEN Teacher

Are you a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher with experience supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?

We are currently looking for a caring, resilient and enthusiastic SEN Teacher to join a specialist SEMH school in the King's Lynn area from September 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about making a genuine difference to young people's lives and helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.

The Role

As an SEN Teacher within this SEMH setting, you will plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to the individual needs and abilities of pupils.

You will work closely with Teaching Assistants, support staff and other professionals to create a safe, structured and positive learning environment.

Your responsibilities may include:

Planning and delivering engaging and accessible lessons

*

Adapting learning to meet individual SEN and SEMH needs

*

Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour

*

Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils

*

Promoting confidence, independence and positive attitudes towards learning

*

Managing behaviour calmly, consistently and positively

*

Monitoring and assessing pupil progress

*

Working closely with support staff, parents/carers and other professionals

*

Creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment

We Are Looking For

*

A qualified teacher with relevant teaching experience

*

Experience working with SEN and/or SEMH pupils is highly desirable

*

A patient, calm and empathetic approach

*

Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

*

The resilience to work effectively in a challenging but rewarding environment

*

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

*

The ability to build strong relationships with pupils

*

A genuine passion for supporting young people

*

QTS is desirable/required, depending on the school

*

A valid DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for a new DBS
