Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teacher to join the team at one of  our prestigious school located in Enfield. As an SEN Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing specialized educational support and guidance to students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND/ SEMH). This position requires a passionate individual who is committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the specific needs of students with SEN, in collaboration with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and other relevant stakeholders.
Plan, deliver, and adapt differentiated lessons and learning activities to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities within the SEN cohort.
Implement a variety of teaching strategies, resources, and assistive technologies to support the learning and development of students with SEN, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity in all aspects of the curriculum.
Provide ongoing assessment and feedback to monitor student progress and identify areas for further support and intervention.
Work closely with parents/carers, external agencies, and multidisciplinary teams to develop effective communication channels and collaborative partnerships, ensuring the holistic needs of students are addressed comprehensively.
Foster a nurturing and supportive classroom environment that promotes positive behavior management strategies, social skills development, and emotional well-being for students with SEN.
Keep abreast of current best practices, research, and legislation related to SEN education, and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in the field.
Contribute to the overall ethos and aims of the school, actively promoting inclusion, equality, and diversity across the school community.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Education or relevant field (Master’s degree preferred).
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
Specialization or additional training in Special Educational Needs (SEN) and/or experience working with students with SEND.
Strong understanding of SEN legislation, policies, and best practices.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
Ability to adapt teaching strategies and resources to meet the individual needs of students with diverse learning requirements.
Empathy, patience, and a positive attitude towards supporting the learning and development of students with SEN.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance or willingness to undergo checks.
