Location: Stevenage
Start Date: September 2026

A respected specialist SEN school in Stevenage is seeking an experienced and motivated SEN Teacher to join its dedicated team on a full-time, temp-to-perm basis from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a purpose-built setting where every aspect of the curriculum is designed to meet the needs of pupils with complex learning differences.

The school caters for children and young people with moderate to severe learning difficulties, Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), speech and language needs, and associated sensory needs. With small class sizes, specialist facilities, and a highly collaborative staff team, the school delivers a practical, engaging curriculum that celebrates every achievement while preparing pupils for greater independence and lifelong success.

The Role

You will take responsibility for a small class of pupils, delivering a highly adapted curriculum that balances academic learning with communication, personal development, and life skills. Working alongside specialist Teaching Assistants, therapists, and senior leaders, you will create meaningful learning experiences that enable every pupil to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver personalised lessons tailored to pupils' individual needs and EHCP outcomes.
Create engaging learning experiences using practical, sensory, and interactive teaching approaches.
Support pupils' communication, independence, and social development.
Work closely with therapists, Teaching Assistants, parents/carers, and multidisciplinary professionals.
Assess progress, maintain accurate records, and contribute to EHCP reviews and target setting.
Promote positive behaviour and maintain a safe, structured, and supportive classroom environment.

About You

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willing to apply for one.

What the School Offers

Small class sizes with excellent staff-to-pupil ratios.
A supportive leadership team and collaborative working environment.
Access to specialist resources and on-site therapy teams.
Ongoing CPD and opportunities to develop your SEND expertise.
Competitive rates of pay and the opportunity to secure a permanent contract.
