Salary: Up to £36,459 per annum (dependant on skills, experience and qualifications) + Teachers’ pension scheme + benefits

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 40 weeks per year + 12 weeks holiday

Here at Seashell Trust, we provide care and education for children and young people (up to 25 years old) with severe, profound and complex learning difficulties and disabilities, sensory impairments and communication disorders and autism. Our campus is home to the OFSTED rated Outstanding Royal School Manchester and Royal Manchester College.

We are currently recruiting Teachers for our school, support students aged 2-18, and our college with students from 19-25. All our students follow an individual Seashell curriculum. As a Seashell teacher you will work collaboratively with the other staff members to ensure the best outcomes for all our pupils. You will promote the company vision, our ethos and policies to maintain and secure outstanding teaching and effective learning

As a Teacher at Seashell, you will:

* Promote the intellectual, physical and personal development of students in your class group teach the students in your class group according to their individual needs

* Manage the individualised curriculum for each student referring to programmes of study, termly topics and write IEPs in collaboration with other professionals.

* Involve non-teaching support staff in the assessment, recording and reporting of student’s progress.

* Communicate and consult with students, parents, the placing authorities and others with a legitimate interest in the students in your class.

* Advise and co-operate with the Senior Managers, other teachers and support staff on the preparation of programmes of study, teaching materials, methods of teaching and assessment and pastoral care.

* Responsible for the professional development of teaching and non-teaching staff in your area of responsibility.

* Liaise with residential care staff on the development of the extended curriculum for students in your class/group where appropriate.

* Work to agreed behaviour management strategies and protocol to ensure the health and safety of students and staff on authorised out of school activities.

* Supervise, and so far, as it is practicable, teach any students whose teacher is not available on the request of the Head of School/College

* Support with personal care and feeding the students as and when required.

What we’re looking for:

* Teaching degree or post graduate certificate, QTS or QTLS

* Previous teaching experience with students who have sensory impairment, autism and/or communication difficulties

* Previous teaching experience with students who have severe and/or complex learning difficulties

* Multi-disciplinary working experience

* Experience of behaviour management strategies and individual learning plans
