An outstanding Special Needs School in Lambeth is recruiting a Y8 teacher to start in September for the full academic year. This position is full-time, working via the agency.

The school is in a large purpose-built building with 150 pupils on roll. Pupils are aged 9-19 years old, with EHCPs for learning difficulties, social and communication needs. Many of the students have ASD. As well as offering students an engaging curriculum, they also work hard to develop communication and social skills.

Shortlisted candidates must have proven experience in the UK, ideally within a SEND school, however the school are happy to meet with mainstream teachers, who have an interest in SEND. They are open to receiving applications from primary trained teachers, as many of the students though secondary age, are working at primary level.

Classes have 5-10 students of varying abilities; therefore, it is imperative you are confident planning inclusive, engaging, individualised lessons. You will also be responsible for carrying out assessments, annual reviews and reporting progress to SLT.
