About the role:

As a SEN TA with a specialism in SEMH (Depression) starting ASAP, you will be joining our team full-time for a long-term position at our vibrant community school in Hackney. You will primarily work with Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 students, focusing on those struggling with depression and other emotional challenges. This role is vital in creating a supportive and nurturing environment, developing close relationships with both students and their families to ensure comprehensive support. You will collaborate closely with teachers and external professionals to tailor learning plans and interventions. Application Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with children with SEMH needs, particularly those dealing with depression.
• Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to supporting the emotional and educational needs of young children.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, including teachers, parents, and external professionals.
• Flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of students and the school environment, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in developing, implementing, and reviewing tailored learning plans to meet the specific needs of students with SEMH challenges.
• Support classroom teachers in managing and delivering lessons, adapting materials and strategies to accommodate students’ needs.
• Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians, providing updates on progress and collaborating on strategies to support students at home.
• Track and document students’ progress, behavior, and engagement, using this data to inform interventions and support plans.
