Hours of Work: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM, Term Time

About the role:

We are aeeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant with expertise in managing challenging behaviours, including violent tendencies, to support primary-aged students in Newham, London. This role requires a compassionate individual who can provide tailored support to ensure the inclusion and progress of all students in their care.

Application Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children or young adults with challenging behaviours, particularly in an educational setting.

• Strong understanding of SEN strategies and interventions and behaviour management.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers.

• Relevant qualifications or training in SEN or education (desirable).

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with classroom teachers to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with SEN.

• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with challenging behaviours, focusing on de-escalation techniques and behaviour management strategies.

• Foster a supportive and nurturing learning environment that promotes the social, emotional, and academic development of students.

• Collaborate effectively with the SENCO and other professionals to assess, review, and monitor student progress.
