Hours of Work: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM, Term Time

About the role:

As a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) with a specialisation in challenging behaviours, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with diverse needs within our school in Brent, London. Working closely with the SENCO and classroom teachers, you will provide tailored support and interventions to help students overcome barriers to learning and thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Challenging behaviours may include children prone to screaming, requiring a patient and empathetic approach to effectively manage and support their needs.

Application Requirements:

• Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs, particularly those with challenging behaviours.
• A genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of students with diverse needs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
• Adaptability and resilience in the face of challenges, with a proactive and solution-focused approach.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with challenging behaviours, ensuring their individual needs are met.
• Implement behavior management strategies and interventions as directed by the SENCO and classroom teachers.
• Collaborate with the wider school community, including parents and external agencies, to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
