About the role:
We are currently seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant with expertise in managing challenging behaviours to join a vibrant primary school in Islington. The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 settings. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young learners who require additional support. The interview process may include an initial screening call to discuss qualifications, experience, and suitability for the role.
Application Requirements:
• Previous experience working with children with SEN, particularly those with challenging behaviours, is beneficial.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
• An understanding of safeguarding procedures and commitment to promoting the welfare of children.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN, focusing on those with challenging behaviours.
• Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs).
• Collaborate with class teachers and SENCO to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
• Monitor and track progress of students, providing feedback to the teaching team as required.
