Teaching Personnel are working with a specialist SEN school in Walsall that is looking for a caring and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience supporting children and young people with additional needs — particularly if you're considering a future career in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Counselling, Child Development, SEND or other people-focused professions.

The role

Location: Walsall
Days: Monday – Friday
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Flexibility: Flexible hours can be considered to suit your availability

What will you be doing?

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll play an important role in helping pupils feel supported, understood and able to engage in school life.

Your responsibilities could include:

• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 or small-group basis
• Developing positive and trusting relationships
• Supporting emotional regulation and wellbeing
• Helping pupils overcome barriers to learning
• Supporting behaviour and communication needs
• Assisting with classroom activities and learning
• Working alongside teachers and experienced SEN professionals
• Learning how specialist schools support children with complex needs
