A partner school – which is set in a wonderful, expansive and picturesque site in Hailsham – are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support children with social, emotional, and mental health need (SEMH). Role Overview

The successful candidate will work closely with students, providing tailored support to meet their individual needs and facilitate their academic and personal development. As an SEMH TA, you will play a pivotal role in creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued and supported.

Role Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs, assisting with academic tasks and promoting positive behaviour management strategies.
Foster positive relationships with students, promoting self-esteem, confidence, and resilience.
Collaborate with teachers and support staff to deliver exciting and engaging learning experiences.
Assist in the planning and delivery of lessons, adapting materials and activities to accommodate students' diverse learning needs.
Requirements:

A genuine passion for supporting the educational and emotional development of vulnerable students.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
Flexibility, patience, and resilience in managing challenging situations and behaviours.
Previous experience working with children with SEMH needs is desirable but not necessary.
