About the role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN-TA – Autism Spectrum Disorder Specialist to join our team in Brent, London. As a vital member of our inclusive educational community, you will work closely with children in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 who require additional support due to their ASD diagnosis, particularly those who are non-verbal.

Application Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, preferably in an educational setting.
• Strong understanding of the unique challenges and strengths associated with non-verbal communication in individuals with ASD.
• Knowledge of evidence-based interventions and strategies for supporting communication, social skills, and academic achievement in students with ASD.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Individualised Support: Provide one-on-one assistance to students with ASD, focusing on their unique needs and learning styles. Implement strategies to enhance communication, social interaction, and academic progress for non-verbal learners.
• Collaborative Planning: Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) tailored to the specific needs of each student. Participate in team meetings and contribute valuable insights to support student progress.
• Behaviour Management: Utilize positive behaviour support strategies to promote a positive and inclusive learning environment. Implement effective techniques to manage challenging behaviours and promote self-regulation skills among students with ASD.
