About the role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN-TA) with expertise in supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to join a vibrant primary school in Newham, London. This role will involve working closely with students in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, providing tailored support to meet their individual needs and promote their learning and development.
Application Requirements:
• Previous experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is essential.
• Understanding of strategies and best practices for supporting students with ASD in an educational setting.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of children with SEN.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with ASD, assisting them in accessing the curriculum and achieving their learning goals.
• Implement strategies and interventions outlined in students’ Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behavior Support Plans (BSPs).
• Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel safe, valued, and encouraged to participate.
• Support students during transitions between activities and settings, ensuring continuity of care and support throughout the school day.
