The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional learning needs. You will help create a safe, positive and engaging learning environment where every pupil is encouraged to reach their full potential.
Your responsibilities will include supporting pupils with their learning and development, providing one-to-one and small-group support, assisting with classroom activities, encouraging positive behaviour and helping pupils develop their confidence, independence and social skills.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is:
Passionate about working with children and young people with SEN
Patient, empathetic and understanding
Confident supporting pupils with additional needs
Able to build positive and trusting relationships
Resilient and able to remain calm in challenging situations
A strong team player with excellent communication skills
Previous SEN experience is desirable but not essentialRelevant qualifications or experience in SEN, Teaching Assistance, Education, Childcare, Health & Social Care or similar would be advantageous.
