Description:

Dunbar Education is seeking an experienced and compassionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team in a Special Needs Setting located in Shrewsbury. This role is designed for an individual with a strong background in supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Key Responsibilities:

Provide tailored support to students with SEMH, ADHD, and Autism in a classroom setting.
Assist the classroom teacher in planning and delivering engaging and effective lessons.
Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Manage and de-escalate challenging behavior using appropriate strategies.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure holistic support for each child.
Support students with personal care needs, if required.
Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance professional skills.Requirements:

Previous experience working with children with SEMH, ADHD, and Autism.
A relevant qualification in education or childcare (e.g., CACHE Level 3, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent).
Strong understanding of the challenges faced by children with special educational needs.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special needs.
DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance or willingness to undergo DBS check.What We Offer:
