Special Educational Needs Team Manager - Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council**

**Location:** Tameside

Eden Brown Synergy is seeking an experienced and motivated Special Educational Needs Team Manager to join Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council. This role is crucial in ensuring the effective administration and delivery of the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) service for pupils in mainstream schools.

**Key Responsibilities:**
- Oversee the assessment and reassessment of pupils special educational needs, including placement, monitoring, and review.
- Manage the delivery of an efficient and effective SEND service to ensure pupils achieve their full potential.
- Develop and implement policies and practices within the Special Education Needs Service.
- Lead and manage SEN Casework Officers, ensuring alignment with statutory requirements and goals.
- Champion the welfare and safeguarding of children and young people.
- Collaborate with pupils, students, schools, and their families.
- Represent schools and the Council at SEN and Disability Tribunals and Disagreement Resolution Services.
- Contribute to local, regional, and national SEND developments.

**Main Duties:**
- Manage statutory assessment processes and coordinate statutory reviews for children with SEN in mainstream schools.
- Foster effective relationships with headteachers, SENCOs, and governors to meet pupil needs.
- Develop and deliver training for school staff on SEN assessment and processes.
- Respond to feedback and complaints from MPs, elected members, schools, parents, and colleagues.
- Oversee the allocation of EHC plans and ensure timely decisions by appropriate placement panels.
- Ensure all statutory timescales for casework are met and maintain professional service standards.
- Manage the SEN budget and contribute to the Inclusion Service business planning process.
- Deputize for the Inclusion Manager and provide guidance to team members.
- Represent the authority on regional and national networks and contribute to the Borough Safeguarding Agenda.

**Personal Requirements:**
- **Education/Qualifications:**
- Postgraduate qualification or working towards (Essential)
- Qualified Teacher Status (Desirable)
- Management Qualification/Supervision (Desirable)
- **Experience:**
- Substantial experience of managing a team (Essential)
- Experience delivering training/presentations (Essential)
- Experience managing budgets (Essential)
