SEN Science Teacher - Milton Keynes

Are you a passionate Science Teacher looking for a rewarding opportunity where you can make a real difference to young people? Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for a dedicated SEN Science Teacher to join a specialist school in Milton Keynes from September 2026.

The school supports secondary-aged students with a range of special educational needs, including students with SEMH, autism, ADHD, communication needs and additional learning needs. The school provides a structured, supportive environment where strong relationships and personalised approaches are central to helping students engage with education.

The Role

As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and accessible Science lessons across secondary age groups. You will need to adapt your teaching to meet a range of abilities and additional needs, while maintaining high expectations and creating a positive learning environment.

You will be expected to:

Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons across the secondary curriculum.
Adapt lessons and resources to meet individual learning needs.
Support students with SEN and SEMH needs to access the curriculum.
Build positive, trusting relationships with students.
Use effective behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.
Work closely with support staff and the wider school team.
Encourage students to develop confidence, independence and a positive attitude towards learning.
Contribute to the wider pastoral and educational support of students.

The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for a teacher who is patient, resilient and passionate about inclusive education. Previous experience working within an SEN, SEMH, AP or specialist setting would be highly beneficial, although teachers with strong mainstream experience and a genuine interest in SEN will also be considered.

You should have:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching experience.
A strong Science subject knowledge.
Experience teaching secondary-aged students.
A calm and consistent approach to behaviour management.
The ability to adapt teaching to different abilities and needs.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
