I am currently recruiting for experienced SEN Educational teaching assistant (SEN ETA) tostart in September at a High needs Autism special school situated in Huddersfield. This is a through school with children that present with: Communication difficulties, non-verbal and verbal Autistic spectrum disorder and SLD. Job description:
As a SEN Educational Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting the children on the autistic spectrum disorder and understanding the differentiated needs.
Providing a safe and secure environment for learning.
Support the class teacher with tasks and activities set for the learners.
Have solid knowledge and understanding Autistic Spectrum Disorder and provide proven evidence.
Must have experience with PECS and MAKATON.
Team Teach is an advantage, but not necessary.
Personal care may be needed.
Job Spec:
Must have a minimum level 2 teaching Assistant Qualification, GNVQ level 2 or above Health and social care, SEND Diploma or equivalent.
PECS, MAKATON, Hoist training, Manual handling.
Flexible an adaptable.
Diligent, resilient and pro-active in your approach.
Must demonstrate experience and Knowledge of Autistic spectrum disorder.
