Semi-Skilled Sheet Metal Worker
Location: Middleton, Manchester
Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent
Salary: £13.74 - £14.26 per hour (depending on experience)
Our client is a well-established precision sheet metal manufacturer with over 60 years of experience delivering high-quality, high-volume components to a wide range of industries.
Due to continued growth, our client is looking to recruit an experienced, reliable and hardworking Semi-Skilled Sheet Metal Worker to join their production team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking long-term employment within a professional and fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities :
Carry out general sheet metal fabrication and assembly work.
Read and interpret engineering drawings.
Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
Perform countersinking, tapping, PEM insertion (Pemsert), spot welding and stud welding to a high standard.
Assist with the assembly and finishing of fabricated components.
Maintain excellent quality standards and attention to detail.
Work effectively as part of a busy production team.
Follow all company health and safety procedures.
Essential Skills & Experience :
A minimum of 2 years' experience within a sheet metal or fabrication environment.
Proven experience in:
Countersinking
Tapping
PEM insertion (Pemsert)
Spot welding
Stud welding
Ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
Good manual dexterity and attention to detail.
Basic Maths and English skills.
Reliable, punctual and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Working Hours :
Monday: 7:30am – 4:30pm
Tuesday – Thursday: 7:40am – 5:30pm
Friday: 7:40am – 3:50pm
Saturday: 6:00am – 2:00pm (when required)
Overtime is paid at 1.5x the hourly rate after 38 hours worked.
