About the Opportunity
Coats Recruitment is working with a specialist accountancy practice in Droitwich that is looking to appoint an experienced Semi-Senior Accountant to join its growing team.
The practice provides a broad range of accounting and taxation services to a varied client portfolio, including businesses within the entertainment industry. The Role
As a Semi-Senior Accountant, you will work with a varied portfolio of clients, preparing accounts, supporting tax compliance and ensuring financial records are accurate and up to date. You will liaise directly with clients and work closely with senior colleagues to deliver a reliable, professional service.
Key responsibilities include:

Preparing year-end accounts for sole traders and limited companies.
*
Preparing and reviewing VAT returns, Self Assessment and Corporation Tax returns.
*
Maintaining accurate accounting records, working papers and supporting documentation.
*
Reviewing bookkeeping and processing journals, accruals and prepayments.
*
Producing monthly and annual financial information for clients.
*
Responding to client queries and advising on routine accounting and taxation matters.
*
Ensuring work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
*
Supporting senior colleagues and providing guidance to junior team members where appropriate.
About You
We are looking for someone with a solid foundation in accountancy practice who can manage their workload effectively, communicate confidently with clients and maintain high standards of accuracy.
Essential requirements:

A minimum AAT Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
*
At least two years' experience working within an accountancy practice.
*
Experience preparing accounts for sole traders and limited companies.
*
A good understanding of bookkeeping, VAT and general taxation.
*
Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
*
A professional approach, with the confidence to manage client relationships and work independently.
Experience using Xero and supporting or mentoring junior colleagues would be advantageous.
