Primary schools across Midsomer Norton and Paulton are looking for caring, resilient and enthusiastic individuals to join their teams and support pupils who need a little extra encouragement to succeed.
This is far more than a classroom support role. You'll be helping children build confidence, develop positive relationships and overcome barriers to learning, ensuring they feel safe, understood and ready to thrive.

What You'll Be Doing
Supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 classrooms
Providing targeted support for children with SEND and SEMH needs
Helping pupils regulate emotions and engage positively in learning
Building strong, trusting relationships with children and staff
Managing behaviour calmly, consistently and positively
Promoting confidence, independence and resilience
Creating a safe and inclusive learning environment
Working closely with teachers and SENCOs to support pupil progress
Reporting concerns and maintaining high safeguarding standards
About You
Passionate about supporting children's wellbeing and development
Calm, patient and adaptable when faced with challenges
Confident building relationships with children and young people
Experience working with children, whether through education, youth work, coaching, care or volunteering
Knowledge of SEND or SEMH is desirable but not essential
A graduate, aspiring teacher, sports coach, youth worker or someone with transferable experience

What We Need to Clear You
To complete your registration, we'll need:
Passport/proof of right to work in the UK
Two proofs of address (such as a driving licence, utility bill or council tax statement)
A CV covering the last 10 years of work or education, with any gaps explained
References covering the last two years, including childcare or youth work where applicable
An overseas police check if you have lived abroad for three months or more in the past five years

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
