Description:

We are seeking passionate, resilient and dedicated SEN/SEMH Teaching Assistants to join a specialist school in King's Lynn, supporting children and young people aged 6-19 with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and associated learning difficulties.

You will be supporting engaging, differentiated lessons that meet a wide range of abilities while supporting pupils to develop academically, emotionally and socially in a safe and structured environment.

Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver creative, accessible lessons across KS1-KS5
Support students with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, and additional learning needs
Implement behaviour support strategies and personalised learning plans (EHCPs)
Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to support engagement and progress
Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and senior leaders
Track progress and contribute to reviews and reporting
Promote emotional regulation, resilience, and positive outcomes for all learners

We are looking for someone who is:

A qualified teaching assistant
Confident working with children and young people with complex needs
Skilled in behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
Patient, empathetic, and resilient under pressure
Passionate about making a difference in alternative/special education
Able to adapt teaching to meet individual learning needs

Desirable Experience
SEN or SEMH school experience
Experience with Autism (ASC), ADHD, trauma-informed practice
Background in primary, secondary, or alternative provision settings
Strong understanding of EHCPs and differentiated curriculum delivery
