SEMH (social, emotional mental health) Teaching Assistant

Aspire People are working in mainstream primary school in Manchester who are looking for an SEMH teaching assistant for their provision unit and to work 1:1 within the mainstream classroom.

The role is to start ASAP on a full-time basis Monday to Friday 8.30-3.30 until the end of the academic year and through to the following year.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEMH needs.
Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Foster a safe and supportive classroom environment that promotes positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop effective strategies for students.
Monitor and track student progress, adjusting support strategies as needed.
Provide emotional support and guidance to help students develop social and emotional skills.

Qualifications and Experience:
UK experience working with students with SEMH needs is highly desirable.
Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is preferred but not essential.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Commitment to promoting an inclusive and positive learning environment.
