SEMH (Social, Emotional, Mental Health) Teaching Assistant

Aspire People are collaborating with a mainstream primary school in Longside (M14) to recruit SEMH teaching assistants for their provision unit and to work 1:1 within the mainstream classroom.

Position Details:
Start Date: September
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM
Duration: Until the end of the academic year

Key Responsibilities:
Provide individualized or small group support to students with SEMH needs.
Assist in developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Create a safe and supportive classroom environment that encourages positive behavior and emotional well-being.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop effective strategies for students.
Monitor and track student progress, adjusting support strategies as needed.
Offer emotional support and guidance to help students develop social and emotional skills.

Qualifications and Experience:
Experience working with students with SEMH needs in the UK is highly desirable.
A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is preferred but not essential.
Team Teach training is highly desirable.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Commitment to promoting an inclusive and positive learning environment.

Additional Information:
