Teaching Assistant - Progress Schools, Thrapston
We are seeking a committed, resilient and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join Progress Schools in Thrapston, supporting secondary-aged pupils with SEMH and additional needs to overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.

About the role:
As a Teaching Assistant at Progress Schools Thrapston, you will play an important role in supporting young people aged 11-16 who may have experienced difficulties engaging with mainstream education.
You will provide support on a 1:1 and small-group basis, helping pupils access their learning, develop confidence, manage their emotions and build positive relationships with education.
Working closely with teachers and the wider support team, you will help create a calm, structured and nurturing environment where pupils feel safe, understood and encouraged to succeed.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about working with young people and who understands the importance of building trust, consistency and positive relationships.
We welcome applicants with experience in:
Care work, youth work, support work, security, military, nursing, police, sports coaching, residential settings or other challenging and high-responsibility environments.
Previous experience working in a school, alternative provision, SEMH or SEN setting would be highly advantageous, but is not essential.
