Ideally need someone with a full UK Drivers licence

Contract

Full time- 8:30am-3:30pm

Connex Education has partnered with a Special School in Solihull, B93 who are looking to unlock potential and nurture growth in 5-11 year old’s with Social Emotional Mental Health needs (including ASC, ADHD and Attachment Disorder). We are recruiting a team of experienced and qualified SEMH Teaching Assistants to start ASAP. The role is full time and long term. The school hours are:

Monday 8.25 till 4.30pm (this includes 3.30 to 4.30 whole staff training)
Tuesday to Thu 8.25 till 3.30pm
Friday 8.25 till 2pm (this makes up for the extra time on the Monday for training.

Within this role you will teaching and supporting the student with lesson tasks/activities in a diverse and adaptable manner, manage their behaviour, and liaising with the class teacher and other members of staff around progress of the pupil.

Passion for supporting, guiding, and inspiring children within the classroom
Sensitivity and understanding, to help build good relationships with pupils
A commitment to getting the best outcomes for all pupils and promoting the ethos and values of the school
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality at all times
Commitment to safeguarding pupil’s well-being and equality
Summary of essential requirements:

Knowledge and awareness of working with pupils with SEMH
Use effective behaviour management strategies consistently in line with the school’s policy and procedures
Team Teach and restraint training
Organise and manage teaching space and resources to help maintain a stimulating and safe learning environment
Communicate effectively with other staff members and pupils, and with parents and carers under the direction of the SENCO
Relevant qualifications e.g., Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning
Enhanced DBS on the Update service or willing to get a new one
Prior to appointment, a classroom trial will be required. Because of this we will need to ensure we have full vetting and compliance checks in line with Safer Recruitment in Education
