Working Pattern: 4 days per week, 8:30am - 4:30pm

Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for an Alternative Provision Teaching Assistant to join a small and supportive secondary setting in Wellingborough.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping young people re-engage with education, build confidence and develop practical skills for their future.

The school is happy to consider both candidates looking to complete a Teaching Assistant apprenticeship and already-qualified Teaching Assistants, with the salary reflecting the route and experience of the successful candidate.

The Role

You will be supporting young people who may have struggled within mainstream education, helping them to rebuild confidence, develop practical skills and re-engage with learning.

The setting has small classes of around 6 pupils, allowing staff to provide a high level of individual support.

The curriculum includes:

Construction and practical learning
Employability skills
Functional Skills English and Maths
Personal development and preparation for the next steps
Supporting pupils to develop confidence, independence and positive engagement with education

What We're Looking For

Experience working with young people is desirable
An interest in Alternative Provision, SEMH or pupil re-engagement
Patient, resilient and adaptable approach
Confident building positive relationships with young people
Someone who is passionate about helping pupils overcome barriers to education
Practical skills or experience in construction or employability would be beneficial but are not essential
Willingness to learn and develop within an AP setting
