SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire
Start Date: Immediately
Salary: £83- £95 per day
Contract: Full Time, Monday to Friday, Term Time only.
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 3.30pm.

Role Overview:
We are currently seeking a passionate and skilled Secondary Teaching Assistant with hands-on experience within a pupil referral unit, alternative provision, or SEMH School. The chosen candidate will play a pivotal role in offering crucial holistic support to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs. This will encompass adeptly managing a range of behaviours linked to SEMH and other additional needs, such as autism or ADHD, and employing various strategies to support students.
SEMH Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored one-on-one support to students with SEMH needs, cultivating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Assist in the implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans (BSPs).
Collaborate closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other educational professionals to craft personalised learning experiences.
Cultivate a secure and nurturing atmosphere, championing the emotional well-being of students.
SEMH Teaching Assistant Requirements:
Experience working within a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU), Alternative Provision, or SEMH School.
Experience supporting Key stage 3 and 4 students on a 1:1 or small group basis.
Demonstrate a genuine passion for education and a resolute desire to positively impact young lives.
Possess outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
Be a patient and empathetic educator, with a clear understanding of verbal de-escalation techniques.
Be committed to safeguarding, child protection and championing the welfare of children and young people.
