PK Education is looking for a passionate, resilient and engaging Teacher to join a specialist SEMH school in Sheffield.

You’ll be working with children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, some of whom may have had a difficult relationship with education in the past.

This is a role for a teacher who can look beyond behaviour, build relationships and find creative ways to help pupils re-engage, achieve and recognise their own potential.

THE ROLE

Working alongside an experienced team of teaching and support staff, you will:

✓ Plan and deliver engaging, accessible lessons
✓ Adapt your teaching to meet a range of individual needs
✓ Create a calm, structured and positive classroom environment
✓ Build strong and appropriate relationships with pupils
✓ Support pupils with their academic, social and emotional development
✓ Use positive behaviour strategies to help pupils regulate and engage
✓ Work closely with Teaching Assistants and the wider school team
✓ Recognise and celebrate progress – however big or small

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We want to hear from teachers who are patient, adaptable, resilient and genuinely passionate about making a difference.

Previous experience within SEMH, SEND, alternative provision or specialist education would be fantastic, but it isn't essential.

You could be an experienced SEMH teacher, a mainstream teacher looking for a new challenge or an ECT who has the right personality and passion for supporting young people with additional needs.

More than anything, we're looking for someone who understands that relationships come first.

Someone who can remain calm when things don't go to plan, adapt their approach and come back the next day ready to go again.
