SEMH Primary Teaching Assistant - LS14

Are you passionate about supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs? A supportive primary school in LS14 is looking for a resilient and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team.

The Role

Supporting pupils with SEMH needs both in and out of the classroom
Building positive relationships to encourage engagement and trust
Delivering targeted interventions and emotional support
Assisting with behaviour management strategies
Working collaboratively with teaching staff and pastoral teams

The Ideal Candidate

Experience working with SEMH, behaviour or vulnerable pupils
Strong de-escalation and behaviour management skills
Calm, patient and empathetic nature
Ability to remain positive in challenging situations
Background in education, youth work, support work or similar welcomed

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
