Pay Rate: £120–£140 per day DOE

Start Date: ASAP

Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday

Cover People are recruiting an enthusiastic SEMH HLTA for a secondary alternative education provision in Egerton, in the north of Bolton. You’ll provide general behaviour and pastoral support, while also leading practical activities through the school’s Vocational Skills Hub.

The Role:

Provide general behaviour and pastoral support to secondary-aged pupils with SEMH needs.
Lead engaging activities including games, food, life skills, outdoor education and sports.
Help run the Vocational Skills Hub and encourage pupils to get involved in practical activities.
Build positive relationships with pupils and help them develop confidence, resilience and independence.
Support pupils who may display challenging behaviour and remain calm when situations become difficult.
Work closely with teaching, pastoral and leadership staff to support pupils’ wellbeing and progress.
Promote positive behaviour, engagement and life skills throughout the school day.

The Ideal Candidate:

HLTA qualification or another similar-level qualification, or above.
Some experience working with young people with SEMH or challenging behaviour.
Resilient, calm and not easily phased by difficult situations.
Confident leading activities and engaging young people in practical learning.
A flexible, hands-on approach and good communication skills.
Ideally a driver, as this role may involve supporting vocational and outdoor activities.
A genuine passion for helping young people develop practical, social and life skills.
