SEMH & Behaviour Teaching Assistant - 1:1 Support
Full-Time & Long-Term Opportunities | Aspire People
Aspire People are looking for experienced Teaching Assistants with a strong background supporting children and young people with SEMH and behavioural needs.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have worked professionally on a 1:1 basis and are confident building positive relationships with pupils who may display challenging behaviour, emotional difficulties or barriers to learning.
The Role:
* Providing dedicated 1:1 support to pupils with SEMH needs
* Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour
* Building positive and trusting relationships
* Helping pupils re-engage with education and learning
* Implementing individual behaviour and support strategies
* Supporting pupils during lessons, transitions and unstructured periods
* Working alongside teachers, pastoral teams and SENCOs
* Promoting positive behaviour, confidence and independence
The Ideal Candidate:
* Professional experience supporting children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs
* Previous 1:1 experience is essential
* Experience within a school, PRU, alternative provision, residential or similar setting
* Confident managing challenging behaviour in a calm and consistent way
* Strong understanding of boundaries and positive behaviour strategies
* Resilient, patient and emotionally intelligent approach
* Able to build rapport while maintaining professional boundaries
