Salary: circa £40K
Hours: Monday to Friday 08:00 – 17:00 (50 hours a week but you may be expected to work these hours flexibly according to operational needs)

Key Responsibilities:

As our newly appointed Security Operations Manager you will manage day-to-day security operations, ensuring the protection of all visitors, tenants, and assets. You will lead a dedicated friendly team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement in security service delivery.

People Management:

• Leadership: Inspire and lead a diverse security team, ensuring high morale and performance.
• Training & Development: Conduct thorough inductions, site-specific training, and regular performance appraisals. Promote ongoing professional development.
• Operational Management: Coordinate employee holidays, manage sickness absences, and resolve payroll queries efficiently.
• Equipment Management: Ensure all personnel are properly equipped with uniforms and necessary tools.

Security Operations:

• Policy Development: Develop and implement comprehensive security policies and procedures tailored to the shopping centre’s needs.
• Resource Management: Efficiently schedule and deploy security personnel, monitor CCTV systems, and conduct regular patrols.
• Crisis Coordination: Work closely with local law enforcement and emergency responders to manage security incidents and emergencies effectively.

Risk Management:

• Risk Assessments: Conduct regular risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and implement mitigation strategies.
• Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of security trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes to continuously enhance security measures.

Incident Response:

• Incident Management: Promptly respond to security incidents, ensuring de-escalation and safety for all involved.
• Investigations: Conduct thorough investigations, gather evidence, interview witnesses, and collaborate with authorities as needed.
• Reporting: Maintain accurate records and prepare detailed reports for management review and regulatory compliance.

Training and Development:

• Ongoing Education: Provide continuous training on security procedures, emergency response tactics, and conflict resolution techniques.
• Drills & Simulations: Conduct regular drills to assess readiness and reinforce best practices for various security scenarios.
• Professionalism: Foster a culture of vigilance, accountability, and adherence to ethical standards among security staff.

Communication and Collaboration:

• Internal Collaboration: Work collaboratively with operations, facilities management, and tenant relations to address security concerns effectively.
• External Communication: Serve as the primary contact for security-related inquiries, ensuring clear and consistent communication with clients, staff, and external stakeholders.
• Information Dissemination: Communicate security policies, updates, and relevant information through various channels, including signage, meetings, and digital platforms.

Financial Responsibilities:

• Budget Management: Manage site expenditure to maintain profitability and prepare tender presentations.
• Resource Allocation: Budget for recruitment, uniforms, services, and consumables.
• Business Development: Demonstrate commercial awareness and contribute to the development of new business opportunities, particularly those focused on sustainability.

Customer Relations:

• Client Engagement: Deliver exceptional service to strengthen stakeholder relationships. Conduct monthly face-to-face meetings with clients to gather feedback and identify new opportunities.
• Service Excellence: Ensure service level agreements (SLA) and key performance indicators (KPI) are consistently met.
• Relationship Management: Foster positive relationships with clients and staff to maintain high standards of service delivery.

Requirements:

• Experience: Proven experience in contract and account management within a corporate, hospitality, or service industry setting.
• Skills: Strong customer service, client relationship management, workforce planning, and financial management skills.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Qualifications: IOSH, SIA license, and a driving license with vehicle access.
• Attributes: Ability to remain calm under pressure, strong decision-making skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
