Secondary Teaching Assistant - Halifax

Protocol Education is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Secondary Teaching Assistants to support a range of secondary schools across Halifax. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about education and committed to helping young people achieve their full potential.

As a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and students to provide classroom support, promote engagement, and contribute to a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

Support students across Key Stages 3 and 4 in both classroom and small group settings.
Assist teachers with lesson delivery and classroom management.
Provide targeted support to students with additional learning needs.
Encourage student participation, confidence, and academic progress.
Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
Build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents where appropriate.

Requirements

Previous experience working with young people in an educational, coaching, mentoring, or support capacity is desirable.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
A patient, proactive, and adaptable approach.
A genuine passion for supporting young people's development.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
Right to work in the UK.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
