Teaching Personnel is recruiting a qualified teacher for general cover across secondary schools in Sunderland, with work available immediately. This is a flexible role open to teachers across all subjects — if you hold QTS and you're confident managing a secondary classroom, we'd like to hear from you!
It's a role that works well for experienced teachers who want to stay in the classroom without the full demands of a permanent post, and for those who want variety across different schools and year groups rather than the same timetable week in, week out. Day-to-day and longer-term bookings are both available depending on your preference.
What the role involves:
Covering planned and unplanned absences across Gateshead secondary schools
Delivering pre-set lessons or using your initiative when required
Managing classrooms confidently across a range of subjects and year groups
Upholding safeguarding responsibilities in every setting
To be considered:
QTS or equivalent — essential
Experience teaching in UK secondary schools
Confident and adaptable across different classroom environments
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
What Teaching Personnel offers:
Competitive daily rates paid weekly via PAYE
Guaranteed Work Scheme for financial stability
Flexible working — day-to-day or longer-term bookings available
Free CPD and professional development
Dedicated consultant support
