Paid to scale, Ark MPS or UPS (Outer London) £35,368- £47,152 or £49,498-£53,230, depending on experience.
Ark John Keats Academy in Enfield is currently looking for an experienced RE & Sociology Teacher to join their talented teaching team. This is a full-time, long-term contract that starts in September 2024.

About the role
We are looking for a passionate and knowledgeable RE & Sociology Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate would be able to teach both A-Level sociology and RE to at least one key stage. This is an opportunity to work as part of a highly effective team and learn from excellent teachers and leaders. Both are popular subjects, with students achieving excellent outcomes at GCSE and A-Level, and many pursuing related degrees at university.
We are looking for someone who aligns with our approach to curriculum and teaching. The successful candidate will work closely with other teachers and leaders, as well as across the Ark network to secure excellent outcomes for our children. This would be a good opportunity for an experienced teacher or an ECT looking to grow their career in an exciting and high performing school.
Responsibilities
Help to set high expectations for the department so that all students are inspired, motivated and challenged to reach their full potential
Create a positive climate for learning by partaking in the RE departments implementation of lesson routines and consistently and fair application of behaviour systems
Develop strong partnerships and ensure regular communication with parents
Be active in issues of student welfare and support
Complete duties around the school, modelling best practice for all staff
Requirements
Mastery of and enthusiasm for Religious Education & Sociology
Knowledge of the national secondary education system, examinations and curriculum
Experience of reflecting on and improving teaching practice to increase student achievement
Experience of interpreting student data to drive lesson planning and student progress
Experience of raising attainment in a challenging environment
Experience of leading successful enrichment which inspires and motivates learners
Effective and systematic behaviour management
Must hold QTS or equivalent teaching qualifications
Must hold Right to work in the UK
Must hold an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or be willing to process one
Must be able to provide a minimum of 2 professional references to cover the last 2 years
