Secondary Maths Teacher | Swadlincote (DE11) | Start: ASAP or September 2026 | Full Time Contract | £32,916.00 - £51,047.00 Annually plus SEN 1 Allowance (£2,786) | Alternative Provision

Overview
Long Term Futures are working with a Specialist Alternative Provision academy in Derbyshire to appoint a dedicated Secondary Maths Teacher. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a small, supportive setting with class sizes of up to 8 pupils, supporting learners with SEMH needs and additional barriers to education. You will deliver engaging and adaptive maths lessons to secondary-aged pupils, many of whom are disengaged from mainstream education.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons to pupils with SEMH and SEND needs
Adapt teaching strategies to support disengaged learners and promote re-engagement
Build strong, positive relationships with pupils to support behaviour and progress
Contribute to a flexible and evolving curriculum based on pupil needs
Work collaboratively within a small staffing team to support the day-to-day running of the provision
Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development
Maintain high expectations and a consistent, supportive learning environment
What We're Looking For

Preferably Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Unqualified Teachers are considered
Primary school experience is very much welcomed
Experience working with SEMH, SEND, or alternative provision settings
Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
Ability to deliver engaging, adaptive lessons across secondary subjects
Resilient, flexible, and able to think creatively to meet pupil needs
A positive mindset, sense of humour, and commitment to making a difference
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
