Prospero Teaching is recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic Secondary Learning Support Assistant to support students in secondary schools across the Fareham area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about education and enjoys helping young people overcome barriers to learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential.

Working closely with teachers and support staff, you will provide additional support to students who may require assistance with learning, organisation, engagement, confidence, or behaviour. Support may be provided on a 1:1 basis or through small‑group interventions, depending on the needs of the school and individual students.

This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain valuable experience within secondary education while making a positive impact on students' academic and personal development.

The Role:

Provide 1:1 support and small‑group interventions for students
Support pupils during lessons across a range of secondary subjects
Help students stay engaged, focused, and motivated in their learning
Assist teachers with classroom activities and learning resources
Encourage positive behaviour and learning habits
Support students' confidence, independence, and academic progress
Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff
Promote a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment
Follow safeguarding and school policies consistentlyIdeal Candidate:

Experience working with young people
Patient, supportive, and approachable manner
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Able to build positive relationships with students and staff
Flexible and adaptable approach
Reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team
Backgrounds in coaching, youth work, tutoring, childcare, or education welcomed

Position: Secondary Learning Support Assistant
Location: Fareham
Start Date: ASAP
Working Pattern: Full‑time, term‑time
Pay Rate: £14.25 - £15.66 per hour
Key Stages: KS3 & KS4Experience, Training & Safeguarding:

Experience working with young people desirable
SEN experience beneficial but not essential
