Are you a graduate considering a career as a Secondary School Teacher? Would you like to gain classroom experience before starting your teacher training?

Then this is an amazing opportunity for you!

We are working with a forward-thinking all-through Academy in Feltham who are currently recruiting Secondary Graduate tutors to join their school in September.

The Role

As a Graduate Tutor you will be based within a subject department and provide a range of support to the current teachers within the department.

Your role will include:

Providing lesson cover within the department where work is pre-set

Supporting the preparation of classes including resources and equipment

Providing support to individual students and leading small groups

Assisting with the department’s extra-curricular events and initiatives

Covering lessons across the wider secondary school as required

The school are specifically recruiting tutors to support in English, Maths, Science, Humanities and Technology but would consider graduates with any subject specialism and a true passion topursue a career in teaching.

The Graduate Tutor roles are offered on an academic year contract from September 2024 to July 2025. There will be an option after this contract for Graduate Tutors to continue with the school in to the following academic year to complete their initial teacher training via the paid SCITT programme.

To apply for this role you must have

A Bachelors degree

A minimum of Grade C/4 in GCSE English and GCSE Maths

An interest in pursuing a career in education

Strong verbal and written English

Excellent communication skill

A calm and approachable manner

This small all-through academy is based in Feltham. The school opened 10 years ago and has become a popular choice for families looking for a continuous and dedicated school experience. The school is two-form entry across both Primary and Secondary sites and offers an independent school feel with small classes and access to a broad range of learning and extra-curricular opportunities in a modern and well-sourced school site. There is a forward-thinking leadership team in place and the school is expanding to an additional site over the next year.
