Secondary Education Tutor
Support Secondary Learners to Achieve Their Potential
We're looking for a Secondary Tutor to provide personalised 1:1 support to children and young people across Southampton and the surrounding Hampshire areas.
Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll support secondary-aged learners who require alternative educational provision. Many of the students we work with have experienced barriers to learning and benefit from tailored support that helps improve engagement, rebuild confidence, and enable academic progress.
We're particularly interested in tutors who can support learners in and around:
Southampton
Eastleigh
Chandler's Ford
Romsey
Hedge End
TottonLocation: Southampton & Surrounding Hampshire Areas
Key Stage: Secondary (KS3 & KS4)
Start Date: September
Hours: Flexible
Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour
Type: 1:1 Tuition
Requirements
Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, learning support, mentoring, or similar roles
Experience supporting secondary-aged learners
Strong subject knowledge in one or more curriculum areas
Ability to deliver engaging and personalised sessions
Experience supporting learners with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Patient, adaptable, and proactive approach
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally within Hampshire

ADHD
Anxiety and school avoidance
EHCPs and additional educational needsEach learner receives support tailored to their individual circumstances, helping them re-engage with education and achieve positive outcomes.
