Supply Bank is working closely with a Secondary Mainstream school on Thorne, Doncaster, seeking a confident and adaptable Cover Supervisor to support the school when teachers are absent and help ensure the school day runs smoothly.

This hands-on classroom role is ideal for individuals considering a future in teaching, returning to education, or looking to gain valuable experience within a secondary school setting without the full responsibilities of lesson planning and marking.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will lead classrooms using pre-prepared lesson materials, meaning no lesson planning is required. Your focus will be on maintaining a calm, structured, and engaging learning environment where students remain on task and learning continues effectively.

What You'll Be Doing

Supervising lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
Delivering pre-set lesson materials and ensuring learning objectives are achieved
Following the school's behaviour management policy to maintain a positive and productive classroom environment
Supporting students with their classwork, including those with additional learning needs
Encouraging student engagement and ensuring lessons run smoothly throughout the school day

What We're Looking For

Right to work in the UK (e.g. British passport or BRP with a valid share code)
An Overseas Police Check if you have lived abroad
Experience working with young people through schools, tutoring, mentoring, youth work, sports coaching, or similar roles
Strong communication and classroom management skills
A calm, professional, and adaptable approach to working in a busy secondary school environment

Desirable (Not Essential)

Training or qualifications in education, childcare, youth work, or a related field
Previous experience working within a secondary school setting
