Behaviour Mentor / SEND & SEMH Intervention – Secondary Schools, Bristol
Start Date: September
Roles Available:  Long-Term | Permanent

We’re working with secondary schools across Bristol seeking experienced Behaviour Mentors and Intervention Specialists with a background in SEND, SEMH, youth mentoring, or sports/music coaching. Whether you’re looking for flexible supply, a long-term placement, or a permanent role, we can connect you with schools where your skills have a real impact.

This role is ideal for professionals who can build trusting relationships, support positive behaviour, and deliver engaging interventions for students facing additional challenges.

Key Responsibilities

Support vulnerable or at-risk students, including those with SEMH or SEND needs

Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions, including mentoring, sports coaching (football, basketball, boxing), music activities, or other structured sessions

Collaborate with teachers and pastoral teams using team teaching approaches where appropriate

Promote positive behaviour, build resilience, and support emotional wellbeing

Implement trauma-informed practice strategies and contribute to individual student plans

Monitor and report on student progress and intervention outcomes

Essential Skills & Experience

Experience supporting young people in youth work, mentoring, sports coaching, behaviour support, or similar

Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with children

Calm, proactive, and adaptable working style

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Positive and supportive approach to behaviour management

Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply—support provided)

Desirable Skills & Experience

Experience within a school or SEND environment

Knowledge of Autism, SEMH, or trauma-informed approaches

Experience running structured activities, coaching, or facilitating sessions

A driver with access to a car (preferred but not essential)

Additional safeguarding or first aid training
